Sculptural Floral Design: Autumn Arrangements with NOM STUDIO

Discover the art of sculptural, asymmetrical floral design. In this hands-on workshop, Sofia Resnik-Cornet-Kim of NOM STUDIO will guide you in transforming seasonal autumn stems into intentional, free-flowing vase arrangements.
Set in the serene Anda garden, this class balances technical skills with intuitive creativity. You’ll learn the fundamentals of floral design, including sustainable chicken wire mechanics, floral processing, and tricks to make everyday stems feel elevated. Sofia will demonstrate how to achieve balance in asymmetrical arrangements, with an eye toward shape, texture, color, and movement.
Deciding how to place each stem invites complete presence, while working with natural materials bestows a sense of connection to the season. Join us in an intimate and supportive creative atmosphere.
No experience necessary, all materials provided.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll:
Learn the fundamentals of floral design, including vase mechanics, floral processing, and arrangement techniques.
Develop your sense of composition.
Take home your own seasonal floral arrangement, a ceramic vase, and reusable chicken wire mechanics.

About the Instructor
Sofia Resnik-Cornet-Kim is the founder of NOM STUDIO, a Los Angeles-based floral design studio specializing in event florals and custom arrangements, and the editor-in-chief of Zephyr Magazine. Raised in Albuquerque, NM in a family of artists and designers, she studied sociology and studio art at Occidental College before building a multidisciplinary career spanning graphic design, creative direction, and interior design. Bringing this visual sensibility to floral design, she creates expressive, sculptural arrangements that play with color, texture, and form. Through her work and teaching, she invites others to connect with nature, slow down, and explore flowers as a creative medium, developing their own eye for the art of arranging.
